It's summer, summer, summertime in Philly, and that means it's time to take in the city's nightlife. There's nothing like partying on rooftops or enjoying intimate dinners on balconies overlooking the Philly skyline. So let’s start making memories on top of the city! I'm hooking you up with some of my favorite spots in Philly.

Warmdaddy’s

1400 S.  Columbus Boulevard

Some think Southern-inspired cuisine is only for the cold months. They clearly haven’t enjoyed the Bynum Brothers’ menu on Warmdaddy's roof deck under a summer night’s sky. Visit Warmdaddy’s on the roof with a group of friends or a significant other - either way, you’ll be glad you did.

Continental Midtown

1801 Chestnut Street

Most Philadelphian’s are familiar with famous restauranteur Stephen Starr and his iconic Philadelphia restaurants - especially Continental Midtown. Head upstairs to their rooftop lounge and sip some of their specialty cocktails. You won't regret it.

Vango Lounge & Skybar

116 S. 18th Street

Think Miami in Philly. Think white couches, white linen and candles atop a Center City roof. Experience an indoor patio and an outdoor lounge with a cozy fire pit. Enter Vango Skybar. Appreciate a different type of skyline, while listening to some of Philly’s hottest DJs mix it up.

Revolution House

200 Market Street

Located in the heart of Philly’s Olde City, the Revolution House is well named. Enjoy a lovely meal at nearly any time of the day amidst a beautiful rooftop garden all while looking out to the prime real estate of Philly’s 2nd & Market Streets.

Nineteen (XIX)

200 S. Broad Street, 19th Floor

With arguably one of the best views of any restaurant in Philadelphia, you may have guessed this place snagged its name from it’s unique location on the nineteenth floor of the Bellevue Hotel in the heart of Philly’s Theater District. It's not exactly on the roof; however, you'll love taking in dinner for two on the balcony after a great theater performance.

R2L

50 S. 16th Street, 37th Floor

With views across of the city from basically every angle of the restaurant, R2L is in my opinion the best view a Philadelphia restaurant has to offer. A leader in ambiance, atmosphere and cuisine, R2L's creative dishes presented beautifully. Whether lounging or dining, enjoying happy hour or dinner, take pleasure in knowing you are on the 37th floor of one Philly’s best kept secrets.

Insider Tip: City Tap House is the place to be for al fresco dining. Not quite a rooftop, but enjoy tasty pub fare while sitting slightly elevated on a patio lined with fire pits at this fairly new University City bar.

I had a hard time selecting my Afro Pick for this weekend since there are two really great dance parties happening this weekend. And when I say really great, I mean dance-all-night-and-work-up-an-appetite-for-late-night-food type of great.

On one hand, there is the Philly hip-hop dance party staple - Bodyrock. And on the other hand, there is a fairly young party - Dutty Chutney.

With its bhangra, dancehall, sosa and reggae sound clash, our winner is Dutty Chutney!

This episode of Dutty Chutney boasts heavyweight resident DJs Mandip and M-Ski alongside guest DJ Kenny Meez of Federation Sound. There will also be a special performance from Fools Gold! Talk about a workout on the dance floor! The only other things needed are Jamaican patties and samosas. Actually, I’ve heard they are sometimes served there.

The damage to your pocket? Only five of the best dollars you’ve ever spent before midnight. So, see you on the dance floor!
