Philly is definitely a festival town--and not just in the summer season. Fall is packed with music festivals to keep you busy.

  • Doo Wop Festival
  • Saturday, September 17

  • Great Plaza at Penn's Landing

  • The 6th annual Doo Wop Festival will be filling the air with smooth vocals and harmonies on the RiverStage at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing. The legendary Cleftones headline a lineup of national and local doo-wop groups, like Cornerstone featuring the "Golden Voice" of Harry Schmitt.
  • Insider tip: The event is free, but donations are requested for the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Education Center.

 

 

  • Brews Blues & BBQs

  • Get ready for some drinks, BBQ and live music. This festival will have you enjoying a sampling of 70 or more craft beers and BBQ favorites from 15 barbecue masters from around the Philadelphia area who will be competing for the Best of Philly. And, you'll get to listen to local blues greats like Shakey and Slo and The Hired Guns.
  • Insider tip: Tickets are $45.00 each--includes unlimited beer, great music and food samples from the BBQ masters. Tickets $55.00 day of show.

  • The Philadelphia Film and Music Festival—a.k.a. the Philadelphia F/M Festival—will take over Philly with over 100 acts taking the stages at over 15 venues. And, check out the Philly F/M “Movie Haus” to watch new behind the music documentaries, like Beatboxing: The 5th Element of Hip-Hop.

  • The POPPED! Music Festival is a two-day, outdoor fusion of music, food and comedy. Now in its fourth year, the music festival is coming back better and hotter than ever. Over 30 acts will hit the stage, including Black Thought & J. Period Mixtape, Rakim and DJ Questlove. Plus, local, sustainable food vendors curated by Philly HomegrownMeal Ticket and the Food Trust, incuding Questlove's new food truck.
