Philly, get ready as our favorite summer festival, The Roots Picnic returns for its fifth year - BIGGER and BETTER than ever before! For 2012, the festival has amped up its energy and lineup, and is set to take over Festival Pier at Penn's Landing for an entire two days of non-stop music and electrifying, crowd-moving performances.
Along with a headling performance by Philly's own The Legendary Roots Crew, the crowd will definitely be jammin' to the sounds of hip-hop legends De La Soul, who will be backed by The Roots, and also a special performance from Rakim, who will perform his classic album "Paid in Full" in its entirety!
In addition to performances by the aforementioned hip hop royalty, the festival lineup also includes performances by Kid Cudi, WAle, Major Lazer, Diplo, St. Vincent, The Tune-Yards, Danny Brown, Shabazz Palaces, Moosh & Twist, Flosstradamus, Stretch Armstrong, The Hood Internet, Star Slinger, Mr. MFN Exquire, Kids These Days, Chill Moody, and one of the newest Philly 360° Creative Ambassadors DJ Diamond Kuts.
